Třetí část začala, Karlskoga vyhrála úvodní buly a puk se nevelkou rychlostí šinul k hostující brance. Kias chtěl kotouč rozehrát, ostatně tak jako ve své kariéře učinil a ještě učiní mnohokrát. Jenže puk vůbec nezasáhl a ten se pomalu doklouzal až do sítě. Hostující brankář jen zlostně třískl hokejkou o led.
Kiase muselo být člověku až líto. Karlskoga jej totiž získala na hostování teprve v den zápasu z Lindlövenu, jenž hraje nižší soutěže. Ani jeden ze tří stabilních brankářů totiž nebyl ze zdravotních důvodů k dispozici, takže Kias dostal nečekanou příležitost. Kromě gólu z vhazování navíc inkasoval první branku už po 19 sekundách.

Spoluhráči mu však nevídaný kiks neměli za zlý. Podle útočníka Gustafa Franzéna se Kias místy až „stavěl na hlavu“, aby zabránil puku v cestě do branky a jedna minela prý nemůže pokazit jeho jinak dobrý výkon. „Je to chyba a samozřejmě nemilá, ale ta se stane každému. Musíte se přes to zkrátka přenést,“ řekl Franzén pro TV4.
„Stojíme za ním. Rval se jako lev, navíc je to fajn kluk,“ dodal. Kiasův příběh trochu připomíná Davida Ayrese, který v únoru 2020 ve 42 letech nastoupil po zranění Jamese Reimera a Petra Mrázka do duelu Caroliny v Torontu v polovině zápasu. Hurricanes s ním nakonec dokráčeli k výhře 6:3.
