As the Las Vegas Raiders gear up to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7, veteran linebacker Devin White is stepping into the moment with trademark confidence, especially when it comes to going up against Travis Kelce.
When asked about defending the Chiefs‘ star tight end, White didn’t hesitate to make his stance known. “Devin White gonna win, that’s all,” he said, setting the tone for what promises to be one of the most anticipated AFC West matchups of the season.

Against the Tennessee Titans last week, the 27-year-old linebacker put together a complete effort, notching five solo tackles, four assists, a sack, and an interception. His disruptive play was a key factor in Las Vegas breaking a four-game losing streak to improve to 2-4 on the year.
Now, with momentum on their side and a much bigger challenge ahead, the Raiders will look to ride that energy into Arrowhead Stadium.
Devin White on Mahomes and Kelce
Facing Kansas City means not only accounting for Kelce but also figuring out how to contain Patrick Mahomes, a quarterback whose ability to improvise can dismantle even the best-prepared defenses. White, however, isn’t intimidated.
“I ain’t scared,” he said. “I know a lot of people look at him for what he is. The guy won three Super Bowls and whatnot. … I treat every game like a big game, but to go on the road and to be able to go in their house when they got a good stadium and be able to do what we do, so I know I’mma be poised and have my guys ready to play.”
While White‘s focus is on execution and energy, Raiders head coach Pete Carroll is turning his attention to tactics, particularly how to deal with Kelce.
“Yeah, he’s the real go-to guy for Mahomes,” Carroll said this week. “When he needs to get close to the sticks and try to make those third downs or try to get close to make those third downs, he’s looking for Kelce, and he’s all over the place.
“They’re hiding him, he’s blocking, he’s chipping, he’s running those options routes, he’s really good with all of that. He has big plays. But that’s not where they really feature him. Kelce’s a sure bet, and that’s where you can see him finding him in a lot of crucial situations.”
