Paige Bueckers joined the excitement after the Dallas Cowboys delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season, cruising past the Washington Commanders 44-22 at AT&T Stadium.
Bueckers, who recently capped off her impressive WNBA Rookie of the Year campaign, took to social media shortly after the game to give the Cowboys a well-earned shoutout.
Her online show of support came as the city’s football team finally looked like a complete unit on both sides of the ball, bouncing back from a rough outing against the Carolina Panthers the week before.
The night didn’t end there for Bueckers. After the game, she met Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels on the field, where the two athletes exchanged jerseys in a lighthearted moment that quickly made the rounds online. It was a show of mutual respect between two rising stars in their respective leagues.
A big win for Dallas and a show of unity across sports
The Cowboys‘ offense exploded against Washington, with Dak Prescott turning in one of his sharpest performances of the season. He threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns, commanding the game from start to finish.
Prescott’s connection with CeeDee Lamb was back in full force, as the wideout torched the Commanders‘ secondary for 110 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Javonte Williams kept the chains moving, tallying 116 rushing yards and another score to seal the win.
The victory brought Dallas to 3-3-1 on the season, and perhaps more importantly, it reignited belief among fans after weeks of inconsistent play.
For a city that has endured a tough stretch across multiple sports, Sunday’s game served as a reminder that the Cowboys can still generate excitement when they find their rhythm.
That same spirit of local pride has become a hallmark of Bueckers’ time in Dallas. Even though her rookie campaign ended with the Wings missing the postseason, she made a massive individual impact, averaging standout numbers and quickly establishing herself as one of the league’s most marketable young players.
Her visible support for the Cowboys fits her growing image as both a team leader and a representative of Dallas’ new generation of athletes.
