From the opening whistle the Chiefs commanded every facet of the contest. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes piled up 286 passing yards and three touchdowns before sitting in the third quarter.
Wide receiver Rashee Rice made a triumphant return, catching seven passes for 42 yards and two scores after a suspension and knee injury sidelined much of his earlier season.
On defense, the Chiefs held the Raiders to just 95 total yards and a mere three first downs.
The win lifts Kansas City to a 4-3 record, inching them back into the playoff conversation with momentum. Meanwhile, the Raiders fall to 2-5 and face not just an uphill battle but one underscored by a roster and coaching unit that looked outmatched at nearly every turn.
For Reid, the message to his team was clear: no shortcuts, no let-downs. The play-by-play discipline he invoked in his words to Jones was on display all afternoon.
The blast from Rice‘s return, Mahomes‘ comfort, and the defense’s suffocating game turned the Chiefs‘ rhetoric into reality.

Mahomes acknowledged that the harmony starts up front. “I thought our offensive line is doing a great job protecting and giving me time to evaluate stuff down the field,” he said.
“And I think Veach and Coach Reid have brought in a lot of receivers, a lot of weapons … that can make plays happen down the field.”
