Coming into the 2025 college football season, Deion Sanders had his work cut out for him. After losing Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr., Shilo Sanders and more to the NFL, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach knew it wasn’t going to be an easy task to replace them and continue winning games.
It certainly hasn’t been through seven games. Colorado sits at 3-4 and in 14th place in the Big 12. Despite coming off of a huge win over No. 22 Iowa State, Colorado’s losses are still being magnified. Only one of Colorado’s losses came against a ranked opponent, and it was No. 25 TCU at home. With a stretch of winnable games coming up for Sanders’ Buffaloes, the head coach is lamenting all of the team’s losses, while infuriating other teams’ fans in the process.

Deion Sanders believes his team is better than those who beat Colorado
On Tuesday, Coach Prime spoke to the media and exclaimed some of his frustrations with where the team currently stands, especially because he believes the teams that beat his aren’t any better than his.
Am I ecstatic right now with where we are? No, but, but I’m not upset either… Should we have won several of the games that we lost? Yes. I can’t identify one game that that team was better than us, and they kicked our butts. I can’t identify that, so I’m not happy with what we are, but I’m happy with where we’re going.
Two of the losses for Colorado came in a one-score game, while the other ended with a double-digit margin.
- Georgia Tech 27-20 Colorado
- Colorado 20-36 Houston
- BYU 24-21 Colorado
- Colorado 21-35 TCU
While it’s true that no team has completely blown out Colorado, it’s clear that Sanders’ expectation of his team might be a bit too high at the moment.
