Fifa anuncia torneio de seleções para 2026, e Brasil receberá jogos

O Fifa Series 2026 é a segunda edição de um torneio de seleções em formato amistoso e organizado pela entidade máxima do futebol. E o Brasil é uma das sedes confirmadas na edição do futebol feminino, que fará sua estreia.

Após o projeto piloto em 2024, a Fifa decidiu refazer o torneio para aumentar o número de sedes e de países, a maioria de pouca relevância no cenário mundial. O objetivo é facilitar a marcação de jogos internacionais mais relevantes para seleções modestas e ampliar o intercâmbio entre vários continentes.

As sedes confirmadas

Segundo o anúncio, a Fifa Series feminina terá Brasil, Tailândia e Costa do Marfim como sedes. Já a edição masculina acontecerá em: Austrália, Azerbaijão, Indonésia, Cazaquistão, Maurício, Porto Rico, Ruanda e Uzbequistão.

“Fifa Series visa desbloquear o potencial de desenvolvimento de jogadores, treinadores e torcedores, promovendo a universalidade e a diversidade do futebol por meio de partidas significativas. A edição de 2026 ampliará ainda mais esse impacto, tanto para o futebol masculino quanto para o feminino”, afirmou o presidente da Fifa, Gianni Infantino.

“Ao conectar nações por meio da competição, a Série FIFA busca fortalecer o esporte em todos os níveis, levando as comunidades locais ao cenário global.”

Como é o Fifa Series

Cada grupo reunirá seleções nacionais de diferentes continentes que jogarão entre si, como em amistosos. Os jogos acontecerão em março (homens) e abril (mulheres). A ideia é que cada grupo (ou série) seja dividido entre os países-sede.

No Fifa Series de 2024, foram 6 grupos com quatro seleções cada. As partidas do torneio ocorreram em: Argélia, Azerbaijão, Arábia Saudita, Sri Lanka e Egito.

As seleções mais relevantes foram Egito e Croácia, que se enfrentaram na final do torneio que ficou conhecido como ACUD Cup. Já o único representante da América do Sul foi a Bolívia, que caiu no grupo com Andorra, Argélia e África do Sul.

A participação do Brasil no torneio da Fifa

Entre os homens, a Seleção Brasileira não estará entre os convidados, já que já possui amistosos marcados para a Data Fifa de março, contra França e Croácia.

a equipe feminina participará da primeira edição, afinal será uma das sedes. A tendência é que haja a participação de seleções mais fortes entre as mulheres, ao contrário do futebol masculino.

E o grupo brasileiro, ainda sem data e cidade definidos, servirá como uma espécie de teste. Isso porque, o Brasil receberá a Copa do Mundo feminina em 2027.
