Rafael Menin, um dos principais acionistas da SAF do Atlético, reconheceu que o clube deve receber um novo aporte financeiro nos primeiros meses de 2026. A declaração foi dada antes da apresentação de Pedro Daniel como novo CEO, em Belo Horizonte. Mesmo após a transformação em Sociedade Anônima do Futebol, o Galo ainda convive com uma dívida elevada e depende de capital fresco para manter as operações em equilíbrio.
Menin afirmou que o objetivo é reduzir parte dos compromissos acumulados e tornar o fluxo financeiro mais estável. Segundo ele, o avanço recente em questões societárias criou condições para a entrada de novos recursos, embora o cenário econômico brasileiro ainda afaste investidores estrangeiros.
Expectativa de aporte e desafios para atrair investimento
Durante o evento, Menin destacou que a SAF corre contra o tempo para reorganizar o balanço. O aporte, caso se confirme, não resolverá todos os problemas, mas deve oferecer fôlego para que o Atlético consiga planejar o ano com menos sobressaltos. A diretoria considera este passo essencial após uma sequência de negociações que esbarraram na pouca atratividade do mercado nacional.
O dirigente relembrou que desde 2020 o grupo de empresários responsável pela gestão do clube já passou por avanços significativos. Entretanto, admitiu que erros ocorreram ao longo do processo e que alguns deles contribuíram para o atual quadro. Mesmo com a formalização da SAF, o passivo permaneceu alto e voltou a crescer no último ano.
A dívida, que chegou a ultrapassar R$ 2 bilhões antes da SAF, foi reduzida para algo próximo de R$ 1 bilhão após a reestruturação. Contudo, voltou a subir e superou R$ 1,4 bilhão, reacendendo a necessidade de um plano financeiro mais robusto.
Novo aporte será usado exclusivamente para quitar dívidas
Durante sua primeira fala como CEO, Pedro Daniel deixou claro que qualquer entrada de capital terá destino exclusivo: pagamento de dívidas. O executivo explicou que não faz sentido recorrer a investidores para reforçar o caixa e, ao mesmo tempo, usar parte desse dinheiro para contratar jogadores. O foco, segundo ele, será a redução do passivo para permitir investimentos esportivos futuros.
Daniel explicou ainda que o clube deverá definir quais dívidas serão atacadas primeiro. O objetivo é reduzir pressões imediatas e reorganizar os fluxos internos para liberar receitas no médio prazo. Ele reforçou que o alinhamento com os acionistas já está estabelecido e que a prioridade é corrigir a estrutura financeira antes de pensar em movimentações de mercado mais agressivas.
Apesar disso, o Atlético-MG mira contratações para a próxima temporada. Uma delas é o do atacante Beterame.

Pedro Daniel assume o comando executivo com experiência consolidada no setor esportivo. Formado em administração de empresas, possui mestrado pela UEFA em governança global do esporte e mais de duas décadas trabalhando com gestão e consultoria.
Nos últimos anos, liderou a área de esportes da Ernst & Young na América do Sul e participou de projetos estruturantes no futebol brasileiro. Foi consultor técnico da CBF na implantação do Sistema de Fair Play Financeiro, contribuiu com o desenvolvimento do Licenciamento de Clubes e integrou o grupo que formulou o PROFUT, em Brasília.
Seu histórico inclui ainda participação direta nos debates que deram origem à Lei das SAFs. Além disso, prestou consultoria para entidades e clubes de grande porte, como Conmebol, FIFA, CBF, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Corinthians, São Paulo, Athletico-PR e até o Real Valladolid, na Espanha.
Com perfil técnico e trânsito entre instituições do futebol, Daniel chega para conduzir uma das fases mais delicadas do Atlético. A expectativa interna é de que a combinação entre governança, aporte de capital e reorganização de processos permita ao clube recuperar estabilidade e projetar o futuro com menos incertezas.
