Am Samstag kommt’s zum Bruderduell in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga!
Dann empfängt der ThSV Eisenach ab 18 Uhr den SC Magdeburg den Werner-Assmann-Halle. Beide Ostklubs verbindet eine jahrzehntelange Freundschaft. Der Trainer der Thüringer, Sebastian Hinze (46), weiß: „Hier kommt das beste Team der Welt zu uns.“

Eisenach will „Magdeburg light“ sein
Hinze verrät: „Wir versuchen, Magdeburg light zu spielen.“ Was das bedeutet, erklärt der Wuppertaler so: „Es gilt, mit der Sturheit und Geduld zu spielen, bis sich für uns die bestmögliche Torchance eröffnet – und dann effektiv sein. So kann man Druck ausüben.“
Diesen Spielstil habe der SCM perfektioniert – und daran orientiere man sich: „Sie sind unfassbar diszipliniert, lassen sich nicht stressen und machen ihr Ding. Und da wollen wir auch hinkommen. Wir sind auf dem Weg dahin, natürlich nicht in der Qualität. Dinge, in denen man stark ist, immer wieder gnadenlos zu machen. Darin ist Magdeburg prägend für den modernen Handball“, sagt der ThSV-Coach.

Was gegen den SCM jetzt nötig ist: „Dass wir eine hohe Zweikampfintensität haben, eine hohe Bereitschaft haben, uns gegenseitig zu helfen“, erklärt der ThSV-Trainer. Man dürfe Magdeburg keine Lücken anbieten. „Magdeburg ist die offensiv effektivste Mannschaft“, sagt Hinze.

Aber schon im Vorfeld ist klar: Eisenach humpelt Richtung EM-Pause, geht mit argen Personalsorgen in die Partie gegen Magdeburg. Der Schweizer Felix Aellen droht mit seinem Pferdekuss ganz auszufallen, Keeper Silvio Heinevetter kann sich mit seinem Schädel-Hirn-Trauma maximal auf die Bank setzen. „Auch Max Beneke kommt erst im neuen Jahr wieder“, sagt Hinze. Dazu ist Stephan Seitz angeschlagen.
