Acertado com o Botafogo, Martín Anselmi chegará no clube com a responsabilidade de tentar colocar em prática o famigerado “Botafogo Way”. A ideia é ter, com o técnico argentino, um time que apresente um futebol ofensivo com força física, velocidade e inteligência. E a cúpula de futebol do alvinegro entendeu que o profissional seria capaz disso após estudar seu estilo de jogo nos clubes por onde passou e entrevista-lo, com direito a apresentação em vídeo por parte dele.
A avaliação sobre Anselmi é de que o treinador possui estilos táticos bem definidos e com forte poder motivacional, o que o torna capaz de fazer com que os jogadores sigam seu modelo de jogo de forma fiel. Isso era uma insatisfação na época de Davide Ancelotti, pois os diretores acreditavam que alguns jogadores abandonavam o plano estipulado na ânsia de marcar gols ou ajudar a equipe.
Taticamente, Anselmi é um treinador com ataque orientado e forte pressão no campo ofensivo. O objetivo é ter, mais do que um time apenas vertical, uma equipe que consiga construir jogadas ofensivas de forma coordenada e inteligente, como se os movimentos se tornassem quase automáticos. Na pressão ofensiva, a ideia é a mesma: “armadilhas” reconhecíveis e bem estabelecidas, para que o movimento de subida seja coletivo.
Por outro lado, uma característica relacionada ao argentino que talvez não agrade de início é o costume de utilizar uma linha defensiva com três zagueiros, num esquema de 3-4-2-1. Desde que se tornou SAF, o Botafogo só atuou assim em escalações emergenciais, com Luís Castro. Além disso, o clube está no mercado em busca de zagueiros justamente pelas poucas opções disponíveis atualmente.
A diretoria espera que Anselmi seja um treinador capaz de apresentar variabilidades no estilo de jogo, tanto em escalações iniciais quanto (e principalmente) no decorrer das partidas. Espera-se, também, que o argentino consiga adequar suas preferências táticas ao elenco que terá à sua disposição.
