Atlético-MG tenta a contratação de Fred, do Fenerbahçe

Há mais de 12 anos atuando no futebol europeu, o volante Fred pode estar próximo de retornar ao futebol brasileiro. O Atlético-MG realizou uma proposta inicial ao staff do jogador, que vê com bons olhos a possibilidade de voltar ao país natal. Neste momento, as conversas giram em torno de valores salariais e tempo de contrato, antes que o clube mineiro avance oficialmente junto ao Fenerbahçe, atual equipe do atleta.

Fred tem contrato com o clube turco até junho de 2027, o que indica que uma eventual liberação exigirá compensação financeira. Em agosto de 2023, o Fenerbahçe desembolsou cerca de 10 milhões de euros para tirá-lo do Manchester United, da Inglaterra. Por isso, a diretoria turca não deve facilitar uma negociação, mesmo diante do interesse do jogador em retornar ao Brasil.

Natural de Belo Horizonte, Fred tem uma relação antiga com o Atlético-MG. O volante passou pelas categorias de base do clube ainda jovem, permanecendo até o sub-17. No entanto, foi com a camisa do Internacional, em 2012, que ele ganhou projeção nacional e chamou a atenção do futebol europeu.

Na sequência, Fred foi contratado pelo Shakhtar Donetsk, da Ucrânia, onde viveu uma de suas melhores fases, permanecendo por cinco temporadas e conquistando títulos nacionais. O desempenho consistente o levou ao Manchester United, clube pelo qual atuou por mais cinco anos na Premier League, antes de se transferir para o futebol turco.

Com vasta experiência internacional, Fred também construiu uma trajetória relevante pela Seleção Brasileira. O meio-campista disputou as Copas do Mundo de 2018 e 2022, além da Copa América de 2021, na qual o Brasil ficou com o vice-campeonato após derrota para a Argentina no Maracanã. Considerado homem de confiança do técnico Tite, o jogador teve presença frequente nas convocações, mesmo em momentos de desempenho irregular em clubes, o que gerou debates entre torcedores e analistas.

Caso a negociação avance, Fred chegaria ao Atlético-MG como um reforço de peso, agregando liderança, experiência e qualidade ao meio-campo alvinegro.
