The girlfriend of the late Dallas Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland has shared a moving update on her pregnancy just 10 weeks after his tragic death, offering a glimpse of hope amid profound grief.
Catalina Mancera posted ultrasound images of their unborn baby on Instagram on Sunday, December 28, confirming that she is continuing forward while carrying the child she and Kneeland had planned for together.

Alongside the images, Mancera included a heartfelt message reflecting both her excitement and her sorrow as she prepares to welcome their baby in June 2026.
“My sweet baby, I dreamed of you long before I ever knew you,” Mancera wrote. “I dreamed of building a family, of the life your dad and I talked about and imagined together.
“I’m so excited for you, but my heart still aches. It aches for the moments I won’t get to share with him, and for the love I wish you could experience the way I did.”
While continuing to mourn Kneeland, Mancera described feeling “blessed” to be carrying their child and expressed her belief that he is watching over them.
“I don’t think time will ever make this easier, but I know God knew what my heart needed,” she continued.
“He blessed me with you when I needed you most. In the middle of all this, you gave me purpose, hope, and something to hold onto. I trust God’s timing, even when it hurts, and I know He’s carrying us both.
“I promise to love you with everything I have for me and for your dad. I can’t wait to meet you, to hold you, and to watch you grow. I love you already.”
Remembering Marshawn Kneeland and the support around Mancera
Kneeland died on November 6, 2025, following an apparent suicide after a brief police chase. It was a devastating development that came just days after he had scored a touchdown for the Dallas Cowboys.
In the aftermath of his death, it was revealed that Mancera was pregnant with their first child.
That news was confirmed publicly when Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer addressed reporters during a press conference following Kneeland‘s passing.
Schottenheimer also announced the creation of the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund, designed to support Mancera and the couple’s unborn baby.
“I’d like to take a few moments and offer my condolences to Marshawn’s family, Catalina, his girlfriend,” Schottenheimer said.
“We had an opportunity last night to celebrate Marshawn’s life, tell some stories. Share, laugh, cry. Marshawn loved the words ‘one love.’ So we talked a lot about love, as we grieve. I got a chance to share a couple of the things that I’ll miss the most about Marshawn.”
Shortly after his death, Mancera posted her own tribute, sharing photos and videos of their life together.
“Your laugh will always be imprinted in my mind. I will carry your legacy as long as I’m still here,” she wrote in part.
“I don’t know what life has in store for me but you will be a part of my every step. You will never be forgotten. I’ll love you forever my sweet angel.”
How did Mancera and Kneeland meet?
Catalina Mancera, 22, is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and first met Marshawn Kneeland while both were at Western Michigan University.
The two began dating during his sophomore year, with Mancera supporting him throughout his college career and into the NFL after he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2024.
Her social media has long reflected their close bond, documenting vacations, quiet moments at home and milestones along the way.
Though Kneeland is no longer by her side, Mancera is preparing to carry his legacy forward, ensuring that their child grows up knowing the love and dreams they once shared together.
