Could the 49ers and WR Brandon Aiyuk Part Ways Amid Friction?

Despite not playing a down this season, injured star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk appears to be headed for a fallout with the San Francisco 49ers.The 49ers are preparing to part ways with Aiyuk amid ongoing issues between the two sides, according to a Friday report by The Athletic. The 27-year-old receiver has been on the physically unable to play list since July as he continues to recover from tearing his right ACL, MCL and meniscus last October. The stunning turn of events comes just over a year after Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension after a lengthy negotiation. Aiyuk suffered his season-ending injury in Week 7 of last season, and underwent major reconstructive surgery in mid-November.According to the report, Aiyuk has "failed to attend meetings and declined to participate in other team activities in recent months." The 49ers reportedly grew […]

2026 NFL Mock Draft, AFC North: Biggest Needs for Browns, Bengals, Ravens, Steelers

A week ago, we took a deep dive into the AFC East, projecting top prospects each club might be targeting in the first three rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft. This week, we shift our focus to the AFC North, where, with all due respect to the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are perhaps the most intriguing teams for next spring’s draft. The Browns, naturally, are positioning themselves again to "earn" a top-10 selection — something the club has done eight of the past 12 times in which they’ve owned a first-round pick – while the Steelers are almost surely looking for a young quarterback.  Here are early projections for the entire division's selections on Days 1 and 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. First round, No. 3 overall pick: Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona StateThe Browns […]

2025 NFL, College Football Odds: Best Bets for Oregon-USC, Steelers-Bears

If anybody's due to get hot, it's me. That's not to say the due theory is a real thing, but I bet on three college football teams that threw pick-6s last Saturday. You literally can't make it up. Maybe you've found your new favorite fade. Either way, I’ve got seven football bets this weekend. Remember, this isn’t the place for "locks" or five-team parlays. These are the games I love the most.Let’s go to work.2025 Record: (28-38-5, -13.6 units) No. 15 USC @ No. 7 Oregon (-10, O/U 59) This de facto Playoff game might not be close because the Ducks are a complete team. They’re more versatile offensively, possess a better defense and are generally tougher in the trenches. I wouldn’t be surprised if Oregon ran for 250 yards in this game. Here’s hoping the Ducks do what they’re supposed to do and that Puddles is […]

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Plans to Decide on Retirement After the Season

Four-time All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce plans to wait until after the season to make a decision on retirement, though he did say Friday that he wants to make that decision early enough that the Kansas City Chiefs have time to prepare for the future. The new league year officially begins March 11, which also marks the beginning of free agency. But teams can speak with potential free agents in the days leading up to that date, and they also will have been working on their plans for the April draft.Kelce said that he appreciated the way that his brother, Jason Kelce, retired after 13 seasons with the Eagles. The elder Kelce made the announcement on March 4, 2024, which gave them ample opportunity to plan their roster construction for last season."Seeing my brother go through it and seeing — I […]

Roger Goodell: Nashville, Tennessee Titans Will Host Super Bowl With New Stadium

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell knew the question was coming at the Tennessee Titans' ceremony Friday, raising the final steel beam into place for their new enclosed stadium.Goodell said Nashville, with the Titans, put their own stamp on the NFL draft in 2019 and changing the trajectory of that annual event for the league. The commissioner said everyone had a wake-up moment that Nashville is a "Super Bowl ready" city as Music City had a record attendance for that draft."The one thing that’s missing is the stage," Goodell said. "And I think now you’re building a great stage. We have a process, but I have every expectation that you’re going to see that type of thing in the future."The Titans are 19 months into building the new Nissan Stadium with a target date for completion in February 2027, giving the franchise […]

Defending Champion Eagles Caught Up in Drama Even With NFC’s Best Record

Jalen Hurts was asked to compare how the Eagles have changed since opening night against Dallas. What’s the biggest contrast for a franchise that unveiled a Super Bowl champions banner that night to the current state of the team, one rolling atop the NFC at 8-2 and a betting favorite to win back-to-back titles."I mean, we won then, and we win now," Hurts said. "So, from a macro perspective, I mean, what else?"What else? This is Philadelphia, so there's plenty of bellyaching, even when the Eagles should be celebrating riding a repeat run on top of the football world. So, what else?Try the cryptic social media posts, the anonymous finger-pointing inside the locker room — even on-the-record public rebukes from respected veterans — and opinions from former players who stir the pot and insist they know everything from why the offense to […]

Tom Brady Mailbag: What Was The Toughest Stretch of the GOAT’s Career?

Tom Brady might have the most Super Bowl titles of any player in NFL history. However, if you asked him, his entire career wasn't filled with sunshine and roses. In the return of Brady's mailbag (presented by Verizon), one fan asked him what was the most challenging time of his 23-year NFL career. As you'd expect, Brady pointed to a period where he and the New England Patriots didn't win a Super Bowl. "There was a period in consecutive seasons where I blew out my knee in 2008 and in 2009, we came back and we had a terrible season. That was one of the worst seasons we had. We lost in the first round of the playoffs," Brady said. "In 2010, we had a great season, but lost in the [divisional round] to the Jets. In 2011, we get beat by […]

Tom Brady Mailbag: What Profession Would the GOAT Have Pursued Outside of Football?

Tom Brady is lucky that his football career worked out.In the return of Brady's mailbag (presented by Verizon), the seven-time Super Bowl winner was asked what he would've done if he didn't play football. However, Brady didn't have an answer to that question. "I have not the slightest f---ing idea what I would've done. OK? Plain and simple. I have no clue," Brady said. Brady was nearly at the door of football mortality before his NFL career began. He slipped all the way to the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, which he said in prior interviews that it briefly caused him to think about what was next for him beyond football. He even mentioned the possibility of having to sell insurance once. There's another job possibility that Brady thought of for himself when he answered the question. "That's a good idea, a […]

Tom Brady Mailbag: How Can Fans Better Understand Football?

What football fans see on TV is just a snapshot of each play. Just ask Tom Brady. In the return of Brady's mailbag (presented by Verizon), the seven-time Super Bowl winner was asked what fans miss while watching a game on television and how they can better grasp football strategy and flow. Even as a broadcaster, Brady admitted that watching a game live on television only gives fans a small picture of what's happening on each play. "That's such a great question," Brady said. "I actually don't think TV does the game justice in terms of all the complexity of the game. I even know from broadcasting that there's only so much I can explain in a short period of time and the camera follows the ball an awful lot. So, you see so much on-ball movement, but the reason why the […]
