McGregor’s 95th-minute screamer sees Celtic snatch win against St Mirren

Celtic captain Callum McGregor scored a 95th-minute screamer to snatch victory against St Mirren to keep the pressure on Premiership leaders Hearts. After an epic week for Scottish football, it fell flat in Paisley as both sides struggled with no shots on target until deep into the second half. The Buddies, who are now winless in six league games, looked the more likely with Conor McMenamin smashing a chance off the post. Image: Celtic captain Callum McGregor celebrates his stoppage-time winner Liam Scales sent the ball into his own net in the second half, but VAR backed up the on-field decision with McMenamin offside. With seconds left, the ball broke to McGregor and he left Shamal George with no chance as they continued their winning domestic run under Martin O'Neill to move four points behind the Jambos, who face Aberdeen on […]

Springboks win in Dublin as Ireland shown five cards and reduced to 12

By Michael Cantillon Last Updated: 22/11/25 8:13pm Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu scored South Africa's only points of the second half, but it was enough despite the Springboks facing an Ireland side shown five cards Despite a near remarkable Irish effort to remain in the contest after being shown five cards and reduced to 12 players at one stage, South Africa posted a 24-13 win for a first success in Dublin since 2012. After South Africa struck early through a Damian Willemse try, Ireland lock James Ryan was shown a 20-minute red card for a clearout to the face of Malcolm Marx.Sam Prendergast (offside, repeat team infringements), Jack Crowley (cynical act off feet) and Andrew Porter (successive scrum penalties) were then all dismissed from the field during the first half. With Ireland down to 13 and then 12 players, Cobus Reinach added a […]

Kilmarnock’s slump continues with defeat to Motherwell

Motherwell won 3-1 at Kilmarnock to pile further misery on former manager Stuart Kettlewell.A Tawanda Maswanhise double sent Well on their way to a third victory in four Premiership games as Killie suffered a sixth consecutive defeat. Scott Tiffoney's first goal for Kilmarnock gave the hosts hope but a VAR-assisted penalty award allowed substitute Apostolos Stamatelopoulos to restore Motherwell's two-goal cushion midway through the second half. Image: Kilmarnock have lost their last six Premiership games Some of the travelling fans aimed chants of "sacked in the morning" towards Kettlewell, who quit Motherwell in January after claiming personal criticism of him from supporters was driving his family away from games. The home fans did not join in the chants but with games against Dundee United, Hearts, Rangers and Aberdeen to follow, Kettlewell faces a challenge to keep them onside. Bowie inspires Hibs to victory against Dundee

Kieron Bowie bounced back from his Scotland disappointment with a goal and assist as Hibernian swatted aside Dundee in a comfortable 2-0 victory. The striker - left out of the national team squad as they qualified for the World Cup - broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark with a well-taken effort before then setting up Jamie McGrath for the second. The victory keeps David Gray's side third in the Premiership table on goal difference ahead of Rangers, while the visitors, who have lost six of their last seven games, remain one point clear of basement team Livingston. Hibs were out the traps quickly and could easily have broken the deadlock inside four minutes.Martin Boyle cushioned a lay-off into Bowie's path from a Nicky Cadden cross but the striker failed to make proper contact and the visitors cleared. Hibs were then […]

Impressive Falkirk sweep Dundee Utd aside at Tannadice Park

Falkirk stunned Dundee United at Tannadice Park to claim an emphatic 3-0 victory in the Scottish Premiership. The brilliant Bairns opened the scoring through Calvin Miller and then made it two before the break courtesy of an inexplicable own goal from goalkeeper Yevhenii Kucherenko. Veteran striker Brian Graham made it three in the second half, with the scoreline in no way flattering the visitors who were in control throughout. United made two changes to the team that drew with Hearts before the international break a fortnight ago, with Will Ferry and Craig Sibbald - making his 500th career appearance - coming in for Pan Camara and Dario Naamo.Bairns boss John McGlynn kept faith with the team that drew with Livingston last time out. Diomande strikes late as Rangers dig deep to beat Livingston

Mohamed Diomande's late goal gave Rangers a hard-fought 2-1 win over Livingston as the home side struggled badly on their return from a costly international break.John Souttar, Derek Cornelius, Mikey Moore and Youssef Chermiti were all ruled out through injuries sustained with their respective countries, which allowed Emmanuel Fernandez to make his third start since signing from Peterborough in the summer and the 24-year-old centre-back headed the Light Blues in front after nine minutes. However, Livi's Australian striker Tete Yengi levelled after 18 minutes when he took advantage of awful Gers defending and the home side's overall play deteriorated, lacking urgency and guile.
