Die SG vergoldet eine verkorkste Saison zumindest halbwegs. Als Top-Favorit gestartet, hatten die Norddeutschen ziemlich früh nichts mehr mit der Schalen-Vergabe zu tun. Mitte Dezember wurde auch noch Trainer Nicolej Krickau (38) gefeuert. Ales Pajovic (46) übernahm nach der WM.
Flensburg, das im Halbfinale die MT Melsungen (35:34 n. V.) aus dem Turnier warf, legte mit Tempo und dem Final-Rhythmus los. Flensburgs Torwart Kevin Möller (35) hatte angekündigt, den Kultsong „Über sieben Brücken musst du gehn …“ (Karat, Peter Maffay) in der Kabine schmettern zu wollen. Wenn die SG gewinnt.

Landsmann Lukas Jörgensen begeistert außerhalb des 6-Meter-Raums. Der Kreisläufer ist von den Franzosen nicht zu stoppen, netzt schon vor der Pause achtmal.

Und Montpellier? Nichts wurde es mit dem ersten französischen Erfolg in diesem Wettbewerb. Trotzdem sind sie eine große Bereicherung – auch am Final-Wochenende.
