Die SG vergoldet eine verkorkste Saison zumindest halbwegs. Als Top-Favorit gestartet, hatten die Norddeutschen ziemlich früh nichts mehr mit der Schalen-Vergabe zu tun. Mitte Dezember wurde auch noch Trainer Nicolej Krickau (38) gefeuert. Ales Pajovic (46) übernahm nach der WM.
Flensburg, das im Halbfinale die MT Melsungen (35:34 n. V.) aus dem Turnier warf, legte mit Tempo und dem Final-Rhythmus los.
